1 BAHAMIAN NATIONAL AND 4 HAITIAN NATIONALS CONVICTED IN FREEPORT MAGISTRATE COURT
On April 4th, 2019, (1) Bahamian national and (4) Haitian nationals were arraigned in Freeport Magistrate’s Court #3 before Magistrate Rengin Johnson. They were convicted of the following charges;
Dorsilin Dormeus was convicted of Harbouring Illegal Person. Mr. Dormeus was sentenced to (12) months imprisonment at Bahamas Department of Correctional Services, in addition, he was fined $1,000.00 or in default of payment serve (6) months imprisonment to run concurringly. He was convicted and fined on a similar charge in February 2018.
Rolex Noel was convicted of Harbouring Illegal Person and was fined $5,000.00 or in default of payment serve (12) months imprisonment at Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
Marianne Pierre was convicted of Harbouring Illegal Person and fined $5,000.00 or in default of payment serve (12) months at Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. Deportation was ordered.
Geri Sempre and Cazeau Milouse were convicted of Illegal Landing and fined $300.00 each or in default of payments serve (12) months at Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. Deportation was ordered.
The Department wish to remind the general public that we are committed to carrying out the mandates of our agency to combat illegal migration by establishing effective border control management to ensure compliance with the Statute Laws of our Country.
