45 FOREIGN NATIONALS APPREHENDED DURING A JOINT OPERATION BY IMMIGRATION, RBPF AND RBDF
‘Operation Western Sweep’ commenced at 5:00AM on April 5th, 2019 in Western New Providence which led to the arrest of (45) foreign nationals, who were subsequently transported to the Detention Center, Carmichael Road for further processing.
Chief Immigration Officer Harold Thurston of the Enforcement Unit along with and the K-9 Unit, Officers of The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, The Royal Bahamas Police Force’ Southwestern Division led by Chief Superintendent Bruce Arnett in this combined effort. This operation covered areas inclusive of Carmichael Road, Faith Avenue, Cowpen Road, Baillou Hill Road South, East Street North, Collins Avenue and Wulff Road.
Upon further processing, (21) persons were released and (24) persons was committed to the Detention Center for various immigration infractions.
We wish to remind the general public that we are committed to carrying out the mandates of all Law Enforcement agencies in combating illegal migration, immigration offences and criminal offences. This results in a number of persons being arrested for various criminal offences by RBPF.
