It is with deepest regret that we in the Department of Immigration express our heartfelt sympathy to the wife and family of retired Chief Immigration Officer Elkanah Bain, affectionately called “Kino”, on the Island of Grand Bahama.

To his loving wife Louise, we are here for you and your family, in this your hour of bereavement.

As we mourn our colleague’s passing, we honour and respect his legacy of excellence in service; he was truly an Officer and a gentleman.

The public is advised that:

The funeral service for the late retired Chief Immigration Officer Mr. Elkanah Bain will be held at the Church of God located on Peach Tree Street in Freeport, Grand Bahama at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday 17th April, 2021 .

A memorial service will be held at the St. John’s Native Baptist Church located on Coral Road in Freeport, Grand Bahama at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday 14th April, 2021.

A memorial service will be held at the St John’s Native Baptist Cathedral located on Meeting Street in Nassau, New Providence at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday 15th April, 2021.
