Department’s Inaugural Health Seminar
On Monday, May 12, the Department held its inaugural Health Seminar at Transformation Ministries, Dignity Gardens, under the theme of holistic wellness and early detection. Organized by the Chaplaincy Unit, the seminar featured engaging and informative presentations on Menopause Awareness by Mrs. Patrice Stubbs-Lockhart, Breast Cancer by Nurse Sylvia Butler, and Prostate Cancer & How Women Can Support by Dr. Norad Morgan. Adding an energizing twist to the day’s events was the “Let’s Get Moving” segment, led by Trainee Immigration Officer Ashley Collie, encouraging participants to embrace physical activity as part of a healthy lifestyle.
Acting Director Mr. Rudolph Ferguson and Deputy Permanent Secretary Mrs. Ordette Wells-Simms delivered opening remarks, underscoring the Department’s commitment to promoting employee wellness and proactive health education. This seminar marks a significant step toward fostering a culture of health consciousness within the Department and the wider community.
