3rd Annual Financial Seminar at LPIA for Immigration Officers
On October 28, officers from the Department of Immigration participated in the 3rd Annual Financial Seminar held at the department’s Lynden Pindling International Airport (LPIA) office. This year’s seminar, themed “Mastering Personal Finance: A Pathway to Success,” provided practical insights into financial management and planning for public servants.
The event brought together several prominent financial and real estate organizations, including the Bank of The Bahamas, HG Christie, BAF Financial, Arawak Homes, and The Bahamas Public Service Union. Seasoned staff and newly recruited officers benefitted from the wealth of knowledge shared. The seminar aimed to equip participants with the tools to budget effectively, plan for future investments and build long-term financial stability.
New officers found the seminar especially valuable, gaining foundational knowledge in personal finance and investment planning early in their careers. Seasoned staff benefitted from advanced insights on retirement planning, wealth management, and real estate opportunities, reinforcing strategies for sustainable financial well-being.
The Department of Immigration remains committed to its officers’ personal and professional growth, ensuring they have the resources needed to excel both on the job and in their personal lives. Leading this initiative were Kainell Brown, Chief Immigration Officer, and Nigel McBride, Senior Immigration Officer. This seminar was a great success. Attendees were inspired and empowered to make sound financial decisions for the future.
