On May 1-2, 2025, Her Excellency the Most Honourable Dame Cynthia Pratt, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, hosted a Boys’ Retreat and Conference at Government House, Mount Fitzwilliam. The event was designed to empower and inspire young men from across the nation.

The Department of Immigration participated in the Career Fair segment of the event, which welcomed students from various Family Islands including Cat Island, Andros, Abaco, Acklins, Exuma, Grand Bahama, as well as New Providence.

Immigration Officer II Dennis Rahming and Trainee Immigration Officer Rashad Smith represented the Department and engaged with the young men, providing valuable information about the Department’s role and functions, as well as insight into future recruitment opportunities within the Public Service.
