Trusted Traveller Programme - Department of Immigration

The new Trusted Traveller Programme (TTP) allows persons to visit The Bahamas for a period under fourteen (14) days without requiring a Work Permit, provided they are not engaging in any gainful employment.


Trusted Traveller Programme (TTP)

The Trusted Traveller Programme applies to individuals visiting The Bahamas for purposes such as attending business meetings, conducting research, and other professional or academic studies. Eligible individuals must hold a senior management position in a company or organization operating in The Bahamas or its affiliates. This includes, but is not limited to:

Chairman
Director
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Consultants
Legal Counsel
Compliance Officers
Accountant
Auditor
Controller
Actuaries
Medical Professionals
Managerial Titles
Analysts, etc.

The programme also applies to individuals visiting to showcase at events, such as trade shows, conferences, seminars, or summits. This does not include persons visiting as organizers of such events for profit. Those individuals are required to obtain a Work Permit. 

All persons not falling within the categories listed above must pay a Work Permit fee, unless otherwise determined by the Minister responsible for Immigration.


Trusted Traveller Programme Requirements:

  • Letter of Request addressed to the Director of Immigration (must include an email address, applicant’s permanent address and telephone contact)
  • $200.00 non-refundable processing fee (payable by credit/debit card, postal money order or bank certified cheque)
  • Copy of Passport Biographical Page
  • Passport Size Photos
